At long last, the Publisher of Cross River Watch, Agba Jalingo, has finally been released from detention after perfecting his bail condition on Monday.

Jalingo was arrested on the orders of Cross River State governor, Ben Ayade, after he raised questions on the whereabouts of N500m meant for the establishment of Cross River Microfinance Bank.

He was detained thereafter arbitrarily for over four months with his fundamental human rights grossly violated during the period.

Ayade has denied having hands in his arrest but his release is not unconnected with pressure on the Governor to come out clean.

Some human rights activists have also taken the Governor to Court over his vow to ensure Jalingo rot in jail.

Mrs Jalingo recently cried, pleading to Vice President, Yomi Osinbajo that her life and that of her children were at risk but she did not name who was after them.
