President Muhammadu Buhari on Sunday evening more than 12 hours after a pipeline exploded in Lagos killing school children sympathised with the Lagos State Government and the victims.

In a very short statement he tweeted late evening of Sunday, the president did not mention the boarding school children that were mostly the victim.

He tweeted, “I received with sadness the news of the explosion in Lagos, which caused loss of lives and property. While the NNPC makes efforts to determine the cause of the incident, I send my deepest sympathies to the victims, their families, and the Government and people of Lagos State.”
