Shame of a Nation: Buhari refuses to visit Lagos pipeline explosion as Governor takes pictures to his comfort zone
In a bizarre and shocking scene shown to the world in Aso Villa, President Muhammadu Buhari received Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu a day after the pipeline explosion.
The explosion killed several dozens with some students and residents of the area still unaccounted for.
Worse affected were boarding students of Bethlehem International Catholic School with many of them killed.
Teachers and the school principal, Rev Sister Henrietta Alokha, were also killed.
It destroyed properties worth billions of naira.
The explosion had occurred in the early hours of Sunday in an explosion suspected to have been caused by gaseous substance at Ado Soba, Abule Ado, in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Over 200 residents of Hyacinth Maduekwe and Chosen Streets, in Abule Ado community were rendered homeless by the blast.
Sanwo-Olu had set up a trust fund of N2 billion saying Lagos State Government would donate N250 million niara to the astonishment of Nigerians. The others from goodwill donations.
Then comes the bizarre situation. The Governor was seen showing several dozens of pictures scattered on a table to the president who has always been accused of only being informed of things with drawings.
The pictures were from the pipeline explosion.
